Fourth of July Parade

Wake up early on July 4th, put on your red, white, blue and get a prime viewing spot for the exciting South County Fourth of July Parade. The 1.3-mile parade begins and ends at The Woodlands United Methodist Church. The parade begins at 9 a.m., with marching bands, fire engines, clowns, horses and floats. A tent will be set up in front of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion for senior citizens and the physically challenged to obtain relief from the summer heat. Roads in and near the route will be closed during the parade.

Splash Day

Cool off on the Fourth of July at one of the Township's community pools! The lifeguards at each pool will select a special theme and provide free activities and refreshments while supplies…

Play Street Museum in The Woodlands

Play Street Museum, located at 207 E. Shore Drive, Ste. 190, The Woodlands, is open for business.

The museum focuses on a combination of play and learning for visiting children. The museum space can be booked for parties and will also host a variety of special events.

Through the month of August, Play Street Museum will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Following August, hours will return to 9 a.m.-5 p.m. 832-464-6685. www.playstreetmuseum.com.

Zanti Cucina Italiana in The Woodlands

Opening next June 24th at the corridor of The Woodlands and Magnolia, the new Zanti Cucina Italiana restaurant has announced Chef Stefano Ferrero as the Executive Chef.

The first concept of its kind, Zanti will present traditional, handmade Italian food including fresh pasta made every day in-house, in a well-appointed, yet casual and charming atmosphere.

Steeped in Italian tradition, Ferrero comes from Carru’ in the Italian region of Piedmont, where from an early age he developed a great passion for typical Italian dishes. Hughes Landing Apartments

Howard Hughes Corp. has topped out its Two Lakes Edge apartment development on Lake Woodlands.

The final beam was lifted to the top of the eight-story building at a ceremony Tuesday attended by Preston Partnership, the project's architect; Hoar Construction, its construction manager; and officials from Howard Hughes.

The project, which will have retail and a restaurant on the ground floor along Hughes Landing Boulevard, is part of the 79-acre Hughes Landing lifestyle district near shopping, dining and outdoor recreation in The Woodlands. It consists of 386 units with an average size of 997 square feet. Plans include studio micro-units and one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.

Blink 182 + Lil Wayne in The Woodlands

In a "best of both worlds" pairing, rapper Lil' Wayne and pop punk icons Blink-182 are teaming up for a Houston area tour stop this summer. 

The two acts jointly announced their North American tour that will take them to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on Wednesday, July 31.

Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, May 10 at noon on the Live Nation website.

Welsh band Neck Deep was announced as the supporting act.
