Howard Hughes Corp. has topped out its Two Lakes Edge apartment development on Lake Woodlands.

The final beam was lifted to the top of the eight-story building at a ceremony Tuesday attended by Preston Partnership, the project's architect; Hoar Construction, its construction manager; and officials from Howard Hughes.

The project, which will have retail and a restaurant on the ground floor along Hughes Landing Boulevard, is part of the 79-acre Hughes Landing lifestyle district near shopping, dining and outdoor recreation in The Woodlands. It consists of 386 units with an average size of 997 square feet. Plans include studio micro-units and one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.

The apartments will be outfitted with the "Dwello Home Automation Technology," which allows residents to control the door lock, thermostat and lights using a smartphone or through Amazon's Alexa voice-controlled platform.

Other amenities include a sports lounge, sky lounge, coworking area with meeting space and private offices, wine room, individual storage units, fitness center and yoga room, resort-style pool overlooking Lake Woodlands, European-style courtyard with an outdoor fireplace, and a fitness lawn.

Pre-leasing will begin by the end of the year, with completion planned in spring 2020.

The Howard Hughes Corp. completed One Lakes Edge, the first apartment project on Lake Woodlands, in 2015.
