In the past, Woodlands residents who wanted to access the best Black Friday deals had to gas up and make a trip to Houston. Now, they only need to wake up early and take a short drive – or a long walk – for retail steals.
Almost all the shops in the area are offering discounts and extended hours, and neighborhood organizers are ensuring that shoppers won't just find good sales, but that they'll also be entertained while heading from store to store.
Market Street will host a synchronized light show, happening every hour on the half hour from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the 70-foot Christmas tree in Central Park. Children at Central Park are invited to meet with Santa at "Smiles with Santa" from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Black Friday. As for the discounts and hours, The Woodlands Mall will be open from 6 a.m .to 10 p.m. on Black Friday and from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday.
There are also a number of stores that will remain open on Thanksgiving Day through Friday morning, including Microsoft, Macy's and a number of other shops. A complete list of the discounts are available at www.thewoodlandsmall.com/sales. We've curated some of our favorite bargains in the gallery above.
Check it out. Instead of being merely the convenient option for Woodlands residents, this neighborhood's retail scene may now be a destination for Houston shoppers wanting to flee crowded parking lots and opt for live holiday music, a light show, and a scenic backdrop.
