HOUSTON, Texas- Marquette Cos. an Illinois-based developer that has been pretty active in Houston, will break ground this quarter on a 364-unit, 29-story apartment building that will feature an approximate of 7,700 square feet of ground floor retail space.
The new residential high-rise in downtown Houston will be located a block from the Houston Astro’s Minute Maid Park. Darren Sloniger, president of Marquette Co., expressed that it’s the first time they’ve seen a compelling reason to develop in Houston, and that they feel the project represents a unique opportunity to get in at the front end of the reorganizing of the Central Business District.
The density of jobs in the area are making people to move close to the downtown area. The residential high-rise in downtown Houston will present a great opportunity for interested buyers. The high-rise will include a 589-space private parking garage and two floors of amenities that include a resort-style pool. Rental prices will range from the $2.70 to $2.80 per square foot, for apartments that range in size from 600 to 1,800 square feet.
