HOUSTON, Texas- A press release recently informed that Houston home builders are expected to start as many as 35,000 homes in Houston, Texas anally over the next five years. Even though its down from the peak of nearly 50,000 homes in 2006, its still a very good number.

The co-founder of Metrostudy, Mike Inselmann, mentioned all these facts during the past annual presentation of the Greater Houston Association of Builders. The economy in Houston has been recovering so quickly from the recession and the home market has struggled to meet the house demands due to the shortage o f lots.

Inselmann also mentioned that the construction of homes in Houston is still trying to catch up with this turnaround in the economy and the demand for housing. Home builders in Houston, Texas will face other issues though, including rising costs for materials and labor, along with higher mortgage rates. Nevertheless, several home builders have already purchased land in some of the most popular communities in Houston and are expected to start building new homes during the year.
