Harvest Green is a new master-planned community in Fort Bend County under development thanks to the Johnson Development Corp., the developer behind Cross Creek Ranch, Riverstone, Sienna Plantation and Imperial Sugar Land.
Johnson Development Corp. just submitted land plans to the city of Houston for several residential neighborhoods within Harvest Green, a 1,300-acre community in Fort Bend County. The first phase of development is expected to include the extension of West Airport Boulevard to Harlem Road, along with construction of several other internal roadways, said Shay Shafie, general manager with Johnson Development.
Harvest Green, the new master-planned community in the Sugar Land, Texas vicinity will be located by Grand Parkway and West Airport Boulevard, near Cullinan Park. According to the community’s website, it is planned to have 2,000 home lots distributed along 550 acres of land, as well as 87 acres of commercial space.
As its name suggest, Harvest Green will be a master-planned community with many natural features, including 280 acres of green space, 50 acres of parks and 230 acres of lakes and waterways. Other amenities will include hike and bike trails and possibly a community garden.
The community will be located within the Fort Bend Independent School District and it is expected that Travis High School and Bowie Middle School will serve Harvest Green. However, Johnson Development is discussing possible future school sites and future needs with Fort Bend ISD officials.
