We shouldn’t deny that energy industry has helped to boost population increase in Houston area - there has been an increasing of well-paying jobs which make several families decide to relocate in our city. Moving to another city implies not only looking for a home - families have to search the best school option for their children.

Lisa Darling, the new headmaster at Houston’s Awty International School, has said that the school just had 1,200 applicants for 150 spots available so they have wait-list in all grades. She has also recognized that demand has been increasing lately.

Awty is a K-12 private school where tuition ranges from $16,000 to $22,000 a year. It has just opened its $5 million lower school addition on April 14. This new facility has just replaced an older building on Awty’s west Houston campus.

Awty International School is the only one in the Houston area that is now offering the French baccalaureate approved by the French ministry. Darling also talked about how newcomers have preferred Awty above other options such as Schlumberger, Total SA and Technip, and the great diversity of international and international-minded people moving through Houston.

The school is listed as one of the Largest Houston-Area K-12 Private Schools.
